How do I make links?
Step 1 - Sign up for the affiliate
program by going to www.africaimports.com/Affliatesignup.asp
Step 2 - After you have submitted your
application wait for the e-mail with your password. This
will allow you to use the Link Generator Tool
at www.africaimports.com/affiliatelinks.asp
Step 3 - By using this tool you
can link to the products or categories that you think would appeal to
your visitors.
Step 4 - Place the corresponding links
for those products or categories on your web site.
The Result - Any time someone clicks on one of these
adds from your web site they will be directed to the
africaimports.com web site. If the customer places an
order or creates an account then you will receive a 15% affiliate commission
on any orders they make during the next 60 days. It's
that easy!
Are there any sales that I do not
get paid for?
No! Anytime a customer makes a purchase
from our web site after being referred from your own you
will make a 15% commission within 60 days of the
customers first order.
If the customer starts adding items to their cart
and then does not complete their order or exits out of
the page before it is finished then you would not be
paid for that since they ultimately did not make a
purchase.
The exception: Africa Imports offers
a 100% money back guarantee. If a customer returns an
item that was purchased through one of your affiliate
links than your affiliate account would be debited 15%
of their return price. If the customer returns an item
in exchange for something else, your account will not be
charged for this exchange.
What if my customer places an
order by telephone or via mail?
We take every effort to make sure you get your commission.
Whenever a customer calls in or mails in an order we ask
them how they found our web site. If they say that they
found our web site through your own web site we will
credit you for their order. This is more than almost
any other affiliate site will credit. We want you to
succeed as an affiliate, the more you succeed, the
better it is for both of us! There are times when
customers call in and cannot remember how they found our
web site, this would be the only time you would not get
a credit for their order. We do use our best efforts to
get that information from them though.
What does it cost to become an
affiliate with Africa Imports?
Nothing! It is absolutely free.
To be really successful, you will want to spend some
extra time and effort to promote your web site and the
products you advertise. But to be an affiliate with
Africa Imports, costs nothing.
Can anyone be an affiliate
with Africa Imports?
Africa Imports maintains the right to allow or not
allow membership to any site for any reason. We
do not accept affiliates from sites with racially
derogatory, illegal, violent, or sexually
oriented/pornographic material.
Affiliate relationship is denied if Africa Imports
considers the relationship to be damaging in any way to
the mission we have of bringing relief to artisans and
craftspeople in Africa.

My web site is based outside
of the US! Can I be an affiliate too?
Yes! You are more than welcome to be an
affiliate. There are some challenges with this though:
- Shipping outside of the US is much more expensive than
within the country
- You have to deal with customs
- Delivery time is much longer
The good news is there are many affiliates of Africa
Imports outside of the US who receive regular monthly
affiliate payments from us. Some of these sites have
significant sales within the US and payments are made
with PayPal.
If there are any problems with orders outside of the US,
we make every effort to resolve the problem.
I'm affiliated with other
companies, can I also be affiliated with Africa Imports?
Yes! You will normally see the best results
if your web site has a particular theme, but regardless
you are more than welcome to be affiliated with us.
There are no restrictions to how many businesses you can
link to and still be an affiliate with Africa Imports.
To be most effective however, you will not want to
promote everything. Try to choose a focus that
your customers like the best, and you will be the most
profitable that way.
Will Africa Imports help
me create a web site?
We can help you, but this is not part of our
affiliate program. To do this you would have to
purchase our web hosting plan. We can create your own
company web site for only $29.95. This includes a $25.
set-up fee and $5.95 for your first month of hosting.
There is a $5.95 hosting fee that will be charged to your account monthly thereafter.
Can I use the Africa Imports
name and logo on my web site?
Yes! As long as you do not alter our logo
in any way you are more than welcome to use it.
Customers want to know they are buying from a company
they can trust.

computer.
Can I use your product
descriptions, images, and prices on my web site?
Yes! You are welcome to use any of the text,
images, or prices found on our web site.
Can I change and update my
links whenever I want to?
Yes! We are constantly adding new products to our web
site, so we hope that you will add more links as new
products come into stock.
You can change links based on a special promotion of
the product you want to make; the season; or for any
reason at all.
How are orders tracked and
credited to my web site?
When you sign up to be an affiliate you choose an
affiliate "agent code". When you use this
agent code to
set up your affiliate links that code traces any
activity from your site to our own. In short:
Every time someone comes to our web site from your web
site we can track their purchase activity and credit you
for that order and any orders they place within 60 days
of registration.

are created using the link generator tool so that they

How much will I be paid? and
when?
You receive a payment of 15% of the
customers total order. You are also paid 15% of
any purchase made from that same customer within 60 days
of their initial visit to our web site.
You will be paid monthly. All
affiliate payments are mailed out (or sent by Paypal if
you prefer). If your payment amount is less than $25.
the amount will be held until the next month. Once you
generate at least $25. in commissions, the payment will
be sent to you.
How can I monitor my sales
from day to day?
You can see all your activity and sales by
looking at your online reports. To see your report go to
http://africaimports.com/affreports/agentcode.pdf
(Replace the word "agentcode" with
your agent code that you received in your acceptance
e-mail.)
These reports are updated daily, and will tell you how
many orders were placed, which products were purchased
or added to customer carts,
how much your site has earned in commissions, and more!
How do I create links?
Use the link tool generator - CLICK HERE
Once you open this page, just click the type of link you
would like to add to your web site.
- You can link directly to our home page
- You can link to a product category (i.e. soap,
clothing, artwork, etc,..)
- You can link to an item (Dudu-Osun soap, hand-carved
canes, etc,..)
If you are linking to a product category then you will
need to know the name of the category you want to link
to. To find this out you go to the category
you want a link to and in the address bar look at the
URL.
Example:

(The
letters CA is the category code that stands for clothing
accessories. The category code will always appear in the
same location of the URL but as different letters to use
as the code.)
If you are linking to a
product you will need to know
the item number for the item you are linking to.
Example: Shea
butter 4 oz. is item number m-182. You can find the item
number in the product description online.
Are there any long-term
obligations to being an affiliate of Africa Imports?
No. Although we expect this to be a
successful relationship for both of us, you are welcome
to stop using the program anytime.
How much can I expect to make
as an Africa Imports affiliate?
There is no limit to how much you can make; but most
affiliates make between $25-$200 per month.
What else can I do to get more
affiliate sales?
There are so many ways! Creating a better web site,
learning about search term optimization, and adding
words to your site that people commonly look up on
search engines like google, yahoo, etc,...
You can build an e-mail list that will promote your web
site. You can ask web sites to link to your own web
site. Offer contests, purchase search terms from google
or overture, the possibilities are endless!
