Calamus Root Essential Oil is used to help with a variety of medical issues. It is an anti-rheumatic, it assists with treating arthritis, improves blood circulation, acts as an anti-spasmodic, contains antibiotic properties, reduces depression and helps improves memory. It is also a tranquilizer that alleviates stress and anxiety, improves sleep and relieves headaches.
Cautions: Caution is advised on the use of this essential oil, since large doses can cause mild hallucinations. The essential oil in the roots of this plant contains the compound asarone. This has tranquilizing and antibiotic activity, but is also potentially toxic. Use well diluted and avoid during pregnancy.
