This traditional Cameroonian Bameleke Shield comes from the Bamileke people of Cameroon. These shields are no longer used in battle but they do represent the local rites and customs of the Bamileke tribe. They tell stories of their history and ancestry. This shield has a rough-hewed veneer and features traditional figures. It has an unequal or irregular hexagon shape. It is approximately 24” x 9”.
